Party with Heart

The other day while cruising the interweb, I came across
Party with Heart, they have a party gang network which
consists of various designers all over the world, they choose
an item of theirs to add to the collection, once the
item gets sold they donate 20% of their profit of the sale
to a non-profit organization. So inspiring, they are always
on the look out for stunning pieces to add to their collection,
it's a win win situation for both parties involved.

if you interested in getting involved go and check them out,
they have a great selection of goodies, here are a few examples.

Animal inspired hats

Nagi Noda is an art director from Tokyo, her hats have
been called weird, bizarre, confusing, inspiring and so on.
Her studio calls it a hair hat, they made out of normal hair
weaves. I wonder what inspired her to create animal heads
out of hair.

Really clever business card

So been checking out the Toffie Festival Line-up and
came across disturbance, this agency based in Durban
came up with this schweet business card design.
Check it out, I love this, so clever!

Tee and Whiskey

I found these pretty little bow bags on teeandwhiskey's blog.
I think they are very cute, you can totally wear this down or up.
I believe they will be at the Toffie Festival this year.
Hopefully checking out the latest and hottest creatives out there
will take some pics and post after the weekend.

Alice in Wonderland - The Movie

I went to the movies finally to watch Alice in Wonderland, it truly
was a wonderland, Tim Burton did a wonderful job, the art direction,
costumes, script was to the point and very well executed.

I thought the dress that Mia Wasikowska was wearing in wonderland
was lovely, very greek goddess like, nothing like the original
Alice in Wonderland. The take on it was contemporary and classy.

I enjoyed Johnny Depp's performance as well as the mad hatter
he really enjoys playing mad or not all up there characters.
He did a great job, there was a scene where he was speaking in
an irish accent and I thought, damn this guy is good.

Unique Neck scarf!

Something different but very nice, good spotting Elsie!

Decoylab Clocks

I found these awesome clocks through Etsy, my favourite online store.
I think these clocks are very reasonably priced and very attractive.
If I only I could get them all... mmmmmmmmmm
Of course there's an elephant involved, there is always an elephant involved.

Raquel Masri - Lace Inspired Porcelain

With a new twist to the traditional doily this one of a
kind scalloped piece will add artfull interest to your
table or home decor! I could use this as a display holder
for my jewellery. Raquel has an etsy store you can visit
to purchase these beautiful pieces.

Mozi Recipe Tea Towels

I thought this was such a sweet idea, especially for a kitchen tea gift.
They are printed on 100% linen and screenprinted in bright flourescent
colours, they adorable. Mozi is based in Australia.

Trends - Earthbutter Beads

These beads are one of a kind beads, they are made by hand,
so each bead is different. These are being used in various interior
stores as decor pieces and in retail stores, they wonderfully crafted
and I love the hearts pendants hanging off them.

An extract from the website which I found very inspiring
to read more please visit: http://earthbutterbeads.blogspot.com

The women are mostly single mothers and are currently
unemployed or are dependant on seasonal agricultural jobs.
The women are paid per bead they make and since they work
from home, they save on transport and childcare costs.

Our story is that of many hands working together to make
one-of-a-kind beads which will be enjoyed by people the world over.

Trends - Imfibinga Seed Beads

So after a weekend of mainly working and catching up on
my Indie course, I decided to focus on trends, we are covering
this at the mo and I need to practice so I thought might as
well blog about it.

I'm beginning with Imfibinga seed beads which are everywhere,
I notice lots of ladies are wearing it and are looking fabulous,
luckily I received a few strands from a freind, you can use it as
a necklace, I've seen it being used in keyrings,
decorations bags etc.

I think they very classy and can see them being used for
quite some time. Here are a few examples.

Imagenius

During my lunch hour I try and visit Imagenius often, if I had
to choose one word to describe this shop it would have to be,
INSPIRATION ok maybe I need more, like pretty, different, fabulous,
exotic, colourful, wonderful as you can see I could go on.

I love this shop it's filled with little treasures, I can spend hours
just browsing and basically losing myself in it. They are found
in  Long Street opposite the Mesopotamia Restaurant.

They stock various items like jewellery, ceramics, novelties,
accesories etc. I visited the shop today and found these
beautifully different shoes. Visiting the website is fun but
visiting the store is even better. Grab a few of your girlfriends
and go and explore. Enjoy.

Antique Market in Long Street

I love this market, it's small, there are various stalls which display
antique goodies. They range from lockets, stones, jewellery, crockery,
silverware, clothing, hats etc. When grabbing a bite at Cafe Mozart
you might hear a busker playing his guitar or saxophone.
On either side of the lane, there are art galleries, eateries and speciality
stores. I love spending my saturday mornings here and the great thing
is you can explore long street when you had enough of the antique market.
